I Bear His Name

I came to Christ with a willing heart,  
To follow wherever He leads,  
I entered the waters and made my choice,  
To serve Him in word and in deed.  
I promised to stand as a witness of God,  
Wherever my journey may be,  
And when I arose to walk a new road,  
I carried His name with me.

I bear His name, wherever I go,  
I carry His light so the whole world may know.  
In all times and places, through joy and through pain,  
I stand as His witness—I bear Jesus’ name.  
Not only in words, but the way that I live,  
I’ll love as You loved me, I’ll serve and I’ll give.  
Wherever He sends me, whatever may come,  
I bear His name till my journey is done.

Some He may call to a faraway shore,  
Some to the house down the street,  
Some plant a seed with a testimony,  
Some with the kindness they speak.  
The harvest is great and the laborers few,  
And every disciple can share  
The hope of the gospel, the good news of Christ,  
With somebody searching somewhere.

I bear His name, wherever I go,  
I carry His light so the whole world may know.

I stand as His witness—I bear Jesus’ name.  
Not only in words, but the way that I live,  
I’ll love as You loved me, I’ll serve and I’ll give.  
Wherever He sends me, whatever may come,

There may be doors that will never swing wide,  
And hearts that aren't ready to hear,  
But I can still love as the Savior has loved,  
And help someone know He is near.  
For missionary work isn't measured alone  
By converts or places I've been;  
It’s helping His children draw closer to Christ,  
To the Savior who calls them by name.

Go into the world—  
Let His light shine through.  
Teach of the Savior,  
And live what is true.  
My hands in His service,  
His voice when I speak,  
His feet on the road  
To the lost and the weak.

And if someone asks me  
The reason I came,  
I'll tell them of Jesus—  
I bear His name.

I bear His name, wherever I go,  
I carry His light so His children may know.  
At all times, in all things, in every place,  
I'll stand as His witness and testify of grace.  
Not only in words, but the life that I live,  
I'll love as He loved me, I'll serve and I'll give.  
Wherever He sends me, whatever may come,  
I bear His name till He welcomes me home.

At home or afar,  
Wherever I'm called,  
I'll follow the Savior  
Who gave me His all.  
His disciple, His witness,  
Unashamed I'll proclaim:  
Jesus Christ is my Savior—  
And I bear His name.
